About Anthropos

A free, private, multilingual AI companion that helps you understand what you really want — adapted to the culture you come from.

What is Anthropos?

Anthropos is an AI companion that starts with a short cultural check-in (your country of origin plus eight everyday scenarios), places you within one of six cross-cultural archetypes, and then holds a conversation calibrated to how you actually see the world. It is free to use, works in nine languages, and stores your profile locally on your device — no account, no tracking.

Why it exists

Most AI chatbots speak in one voice — usually a flat, American, individualist one. That works for code. It does not work when the question is what do I really want, or why does this situation keep hurting me. The answer to those questions is shaped by the culture you grew up in: how much your family speaks through silence, how direct is too direct, whether time is a river or a resource, whether the group or the self comes first. Anthropos was built to give people who live between cultures a companion that meets them where they actually stand.

What it is built on

The archetypes and country mapping draw from established cross-cultural research: Hofstede's six cultural dimensions (individualism, power distance, uncertainty avoidance, long-term orientation, indulgence, masculinity/femininity), Schwartz's theory of basic human values, and the GLOBE study. The conversational layer applies evidence-based wellbeing techniques — CBT reframing, motivational interviewing, mindfulness prompts — filtered through your cultural profile.

Who it is for

What it is not

Anthropos is not a clinical assessment, not a diagnosis, and not a substitute for a therapist or intercultural consultant. It is a mirror — one that tries to be honest, warm, and grounded in real research.
